5 Top Beauty Hacks For Festival Camping

festival glamping exotic principessa

I’ve just booked my tickets for We R Festival this May (whoop!)  I try and go every year (if I’m not on a jolly) and plan to do the whole camping V fest weekender later this year!  Now usually I would opt for glamping over camping any day of the week as I do appreciate a bit of comfort!  But camping is fun and in my opinion far more sociable. Especially in the evenings when the festival shuts down.

Now I ALWAYS like to travel light and am known for my scrupulous packing skills (back pat)!  Whether I’m staying overnight at the boyfies or going away for a fortnight, I can fit a week’s worth of holiday clothes into a carry on no problemo.

As packing light is hardwired into my DNA, I thought I’d share some beauty tips on how to take less but still remain festival chic this summer when camping.

Curly Hair Hacks to Change Your Life

hair hacks to change your life

If you’re a curly girl like me, do you find your hair is prone to frizz?  Feels crispy in this winter weather? Dry? Sometimes both oily AND dry?!….  I can relate well!

Curly hair always looks beautiful when it’s well moisturised and frizz free!  But despite its beauty, curly hair needs plenty of TLC and is high maintenance in comparison to hair that’s bone straight.  Here are some handy tips and tricks to get your curls popping!

Towel Dry No More! Use A Microfibre Towel Or Cotton T-Shirt Instead

Regular towels can tug and pull on your hair which makes it susceptible to damage.  A microfibre towel will dry your hair gently without causing friction.  If you don’t have a microfibre towel, a cotton t-shirt will do the trick just as well.  Below is a video of the cotton t-shirt method:

Use Products With Natural Ingredients

Using products with natural ingredients keeps product build up and damage at bay.  Products containing petroleum or mineral oil only coat the hair and will ultimately make curly hair dry and brittle and encourage that dreaded frizz!

Natural products such as coconut oil, olive oil, argan oil and shea butter are nature’s moisturisers and conditioners.  You can easily make your own hair moisturiser and conditioner using natural products.  Most of which you may already have laying around the home.  Using natural ingredients on curly hair will penetrate the cuticle, providing moisture from within and will not just sit on top causing build up.

10 Beauty Hacks To Save Your Life!

Time is Money….

We live in a world where time is money, money is time!  If you’re anything like me who can sometimes be impatient and easily stressed, these 10 tried and tested beauty hacks should relieve you of sweating the small stuff when it comes to beautifying yourself!

1. Business Card Trick ~ No More Mascara Smudges

You know how frustrating it can be when you’re at the end of your make up routine, all fresh and polished ready for your mascara finale when BAM!…. You blink at the wrong time causing the mascara wand to brush over your perfectly applied eyeshadow, or it stabs you in the eye causing that unsightly black smudging!!  Eyes ruined!!

This awesome little business card trick will eliminate that problem forever!  Bold claim I know but I can back it up.  Here’s how:

  1. Place a business card just above your eye and using a pen or eyeliner,  mark on the card two dots to reflect the length of your eye (a dot where the edge of your eyes meets your nose and one on the other side where the eye meets your temple)
  2. Using the pen or eyeliner, connect the two dots whilst drawing the shape of your eye (no need to be perfect here).  Then cut out the half circle from the business card
  3. Position the semi circle cut out part of the business card on top of your eyelid right behind your lashes and gently press and lift.
  4. Your lashes will push themselves up against the business card ready for your mascara application.  Any accidental blinking is impossible using this method and any smudges will go on the card and never around your eye!

Voila! Perfect mascara and smudge free eyes! Continue reading…
